In our episode this week, I wanted to give Mary the floor to share some of her expertise. Specifically, her expertise in assisting clients with email marketing.

Many internet marketing gurus – you know them, the ones making 7 figures – teach great plans for building a following with email marketing.  While this information is valuable for those with “sexy” subjects – like “Get More Clients” or “Increase Your Sales Now” or “Make More Money” their plans are not one-size-fits-all for those of us with niche businesses – like a consultant who specializes in termite control.  Of course that advice is valuable, and email marketing is absolutely necessary, but audiences are different, topics are different – and usually that calls for a change in approach, perspective and expectations.

Mary’s advice regarding email marketing for most small business owners:  keep the newsletter messages simple, short and without a lot of images.
